The Friday Baking Club is a bit different to our other baking courses. This workshop is run every month, on Friday - how else - but the content is always different and changes with seasons.
When I was working in my corporate job, I was always looking forward to Fridays, because that was my baking day. I would bake bread, cakes and experiment with different recipes and then enjoy my weekend with freshly baked goodies. It was a treat! Sometimes I would make a few extra batches to freeze, so that we could enjoy our homebaked bread during the week too.
And this is where the idea for The Friday Baking Club started - we are often too busy to bake during the week, but it's so lovely to have something special and freshly baked for the weekend!
The Friday Baking Club runs every month and you are welcome to join us for one session or two. Each session is different (see below), but we always include savoury and sweets bakes. This is a 'hands-on' workshop, which means that you will be doing a lot of the baking yourself. But we also demonstrate some of the recipes to give you chance to relax a bit, have a cup of tea and enjoy a slice of cake.
Each session is round up with a light lunch, glass of wine or a soft drink and chat about recipes, baking and chance to ask any questions.
The Friday Baking Club is held in a domestic kitchen in small groups with plenty of one to one tuition from your host Magdalena Marsden. Our small groups are ideal for learning and ensuring that you get most out of your day.
Each session includes
1/2 day hands on baking workshop in a small group of 3 people (10 - 2.30 pm)
Some recipes are demonstrated, whilst you enjoy a well deserved cup of tea (where practical, we share all the bakes with the course students)
Course recipe handouts with detailed descriptions of what we baked during the session & useful resources information
Delicious refreshments - tea or coffee throughout the day, handmade biscuits, bread, cakes, light lunch and a glass of wine
3-4 types of bakes to take home for the weekend
The baking session are themed each month depending on season.
