5 Day Bread Baking Course
'I love to bake bread, but don't always have the time and space to really get stuck into proper bread baking'.
This is what one of my recent students told me and I must admit it resonated with me. I know how frustrating it can be when you've just start bread baking, but then you need to interrupt what you are doing - because life just happens!
So, imagine, how it would feel like to have enough time to bake everything you want and finally try all the recipes you have been putting away to bake later, but never got round to.
What if somebody walked you through the bread baking techniques and at the end of the day even brought you a delicious homemade dinner with a glass of wine!
Oh...and did I mention that all of this happens in a spacious Victorian Manor kitchen with 6 ovens?
Well, I'm thrilled to announce our first ever Bread Baking Residential Course. After 3 years of teaching bread making workshops, I've decided to put together the best from my bread baking workshops and bring them to the relaxed atmosphere of a traditional Victorian Manor House in the calming Welsh countryside.
And I'd be delighted if you can join us!

Yes, of course! We have allocated places for partners and we will do our best to accommodate you. Your partner can join you for breakfast and dinner and enjoy the facilities in the house (gym, snooker table, games room) or explore the beautiful Welsh countryside. See the bread baking school location for more details on how to spend your day.
Can I bring my children?
Our Residential Bread Baking Course is aimed at adult learners, so we are really sorry, but you won't be able to bring any children under the age of 18.
What if I book and can't make the course?

Just bring what you would normally bring for a week's holiday, there is no need to bring any baking equipment. We do recommend to bring a comfortable shoes, as you will be on your feet most of the day and casual clothes. Aprons will be provided each day.
Is the course for me? How good do I need to be at baking?
The course is aimed at complete beginners and improvers. Because our group is small, the tutor - Magdalena Marsden will be able to work with you on idividual basis. Whatever your skill level is, there will be ample opportunities to practice and perfect your bread making techniques and take them to the next level!
How do I get there?
Once you book, we will send you directions to the house, including postcode. The house can be reached within 3 hrs from South East London by car. The nearest train station is Newport, which connects to London, Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham and then it's just a short ride away on a local bus.
What would the day look like?
We want to create a relaxed atmosphere, so each day will have its own pace, but we will start with a hearty breakfast followed by a morning session of baking with lunch in early afternoon. The second baking session will finish late in the afternoon after which you will be welcome to relax by the fire with a good book or use other facilities in the house - such as the gym. Dinner will be served for everyone in the main dinning room at around 7 pm. For bread baking itinerary please follow this link here.
What are the facilities in the house?
The house is beautifully furnished and has everything you could wish for. Most bedrooms are ensuite, there are several lounges for you to relax in, gym, games room with full size snooker table and grounds to explore. To find our more about the house, just follow this link here.
I would like to attend but I can't make the dates. Are you running this course again?
Yes, of course! We will run this course once a year - every year. We will always aim for out of season dates, so it will be either March 2016 or September 2016.
What people say about our bread baking workshops
'I have really enjoyed learning new bread baking techniques. I knew my bread baking wasn't quite right, well you could never tell whether the bread will come our right or not! Thanks to you, I'm now much better at it and if something doesn't work out perfectly, at least I know why!
Mary, Sidcup, Kent
'I have tried for ages to get my daughter interested in eating healthy wholemeal bread, but I didn't have much luck. After I attended your Speciality Bread Baking, I baked the Cheese & Onion Tear & Share bread with wholemeal flour. My daughter loved the bread and has not even noticed it was made from wholemeal flour. Great success all round!
'It was so good to spend a day with my friends doing somethig we all enjoy - baking and eating good bread! Thank you for making the day extra special and thinking of all the little details like adding an extra bread recipe to our recipe pack'
'I've never eaten better bread before! I don't think mine would win any awards for looks, but I was so proud that I really baked my first bread. I'm normally so clumsy in kitchen, but under your guidance I've succeded!'
Tom, Deal, Kent
'Thank you for a great day! I've been previously scared by bread baking - it just looked so complicated. So, thank you for breaking it down for me and explaining how best to bake at home'
'I just wanted to say, that since attending one of your bread courses last year, I'm proud to say, that I very rarely buy bread from supermarket'
