The ultimate list of 32 chocolate snack bars or candy bars popular in USA, including chocolate bars history, interesting facts, photos and taste notes. The best selling chocolate bars in United States as well as fun facts about the less known brands.
There are so many delicious American chocolate bars to choose from that writing this blog post was much harder than I thought it would be! I wanted to list all the popular and best selling candy bars in the USA and mainly focus on those that started their journey in the USA.
There are other chocolate bars, such as Twix, Mars Bar or Toblerone, that were originally made elsewhere, but when introduced to USA they became an instant hit. You will notice, that chocolates that came from UK were introduced to USA in 1950s or 1970s few decades after they were invented.
British chocolate is different from American chocolates in many different ways – mainly the difference in sugar content, percentage of cocoa solids and in the case of candy bars there is also a lot more flavours with peanuts in America then in UK. I’ve also included some less know chocolate bars made in Canada, which are also popular in the USA.
There is also understandable overlap with the best selling chocolate bars in UK, as some chocolate bars such as Kit Kat were originally invented in Britain before they become popular in the USA.
I’m sure that this list of 32 best know and best selling chocolate snack bars is not complete as there are always new chocolate bars appearing (or I might have forgot some!), so if your favourite is not on the list, let me know in the comments bellow!
