Oh Henry!
This candy bar is made by The Hershey Company and consists of a chewy mixture of peanuts, caramel, and fudge, all covered in milk chocolate.
The Oh Henry! bar was first introduced in 1920 by the Williamson Candy Company in Chicago, Illinois. The bar was named after a young man named Henry who was a frequent customer at the company’s candy store. The employees would always say “Oh Henry!” when they saw him, and the name stuck.
Over the years, the recipe and packaging of the Oh Henry! bar have undergone several changes. In the 1970s, the company introduced a new version of the bar that included a crunchy peanut butter center. In the 2000s, the company introduced a new version of the bar that included a dark chocolate coating.
One of the most memorable slogans for the “Oh Henry!” bar is: “Oh Henry! Oh Hunger!” This slogan played on the name of the bar and emphasized its satisfying, hunger-quenching quality.
Another well-known tagline associated with “Oh Henry!” in past advertising campaigns is: “Hungry? Oh Henry!” This simple and direct slogan also focused on the candy bar’s ability to satisfy hunger. The “Oh Henry!” bar has been marketed as a filling snack that’s perfect for a quick energy boost.
Unfortunately, the ‘Oh Henry! chocolate bar has been discontinued in 2019 and can’t be bought in the USA anymore. As far as I know, there are no news about bringing this delicious chocolate bar back, but a similar bar is being sold in Canada. Hersey’s also make the Oh Henry bar in Canada, but sell it as a Rally chocolate bar in the USA.

Ovolino chocolate bar
The Ovolino chocolate bar is made by the Ovaltine Company in Switzerland. It has a centre made with thickened compressed Ovaltine which is dipped in chocolate. It’s mainly sold in Switzerland.
Ovomaltine, known as Ovaltine in English-speaking countries, has a rich history that dates back to the early 20th century. The product was developed in 1904 by Swiss chemist Dr. Albert Wander in Bern, Switzerland. Dr. Wander was seeking to create a nutritious supplement that could help combat malnutrition, and he focused on malt extract as a key ingredient, recognizing its health benefits.
The original product was a powdered drink mix containing barley malt extract, egg, and milk, which were all considered beneficial for health and energy. The name “Ovomaltine” comes from the Latin word “ovum” for “egg” and “malt,” which were the main ingredients. The brand quickly became popular as a healthful drink, not only for those who were malnourished but also for athletes and people leading an active lifestyle.
Over the years, Ovomaltine expanded its reach beyond Switzerland. In Britain, it was sold under the name Ovaltine, which later became the brand’s name in many other markets. The product gained international fame and was exported to several countries, becoming a beloved bedtime drink, often advertised for its sleep-inducing qualities.
The brand also diversified its product range, introducing various forms of the malt beverage, including ready-to-drink versions and chocolate bars enriched with Ovomaltine’s signature malt flavor. One of the most famous products is the Ovomaltine Crunchy Cream, a spread that combines the malt flavor with chocolate and hazelnuts.
